Afya Bora Consortium (ABC) Fellowship
UCSF is part of the Afya Bora Consortium (ABC) Fellowship in Global Health. One UCSF graduate in medicine, nursing or public health is selected for this one-year Africa-based fellowship.
Targeted to provide medical students, residents, fellows and/or faculty with 12-months of practical training in global health reporting using a variety of media platforms.
Preparing the next generation of researchers and clinicians for careers in global health.

UCSF and Makerere have a long, sustained partnership, subsisting of clinical relationships in surgery, malaria, infectious disease research training, a UCSF clinical elective, and a surgical exchange program
Gives postgraduate students the opportunity to gain operational experience in the South African healthcare environment. Focus in monitoring and evaluation, psychology, nursing, Health Management Information and HIV and AIDS care and treatment.
Recorded lectures and all written materials and group discussions will be online. Preference given to UCSF-affiliated personnel, national or international colleagues of UCSF. Partial scholarships to scholars in low or lower middle income economy countries.

AIDS International Research Training- Fogarty
U.C. Berkeley offers training for international scholars in AIDS-related research with support from the Fogarty International Center's AIDS International Training and Research Program (AITRP). Arthur L. Reingold, head of the Division of Epidemiology in the U.C. Berkeley School of Health, is the Project Director.
Links faculty and trainees from across the 10-campus system with collaborating international institutions to provide significant mentored research opportunities in diverse low-resource settings. Applications are due May 21st

Fellows receive a stipend to carry out human rights-related fieldwork with partner organizations in the United States and abroad
STEP hosts rotations for health professional students and residents at sites within the Family AIDS Care and Education Services (FACES) network of clinics in Kenya. Begun in 2006. 88 residents and students have completed the training.
